Middlesbrough manager Tony Pulis has further eulogised John Obi Mikel for his sterling displays for the side and states that the Nigeria captain greatly inspires his teammates, reports Completesports.com.
Mikel, 31, joined Middlesbrough as a free agent in January penning a short-term contract with the Teasiders after ending his two-year sojourn in the Chinese Super League with Tianjin Teda.
The former Chelsea midfielder has won the hearts of Boro fans with his exceptional performances since his arrival.
“Since he came into the football club, the level of his performances have been exceptional,” Pulis told Middlesbrough’s official website.
“He’ll give credit to the other players around him, I’ve spoken to him and he’s done that. You don’t win the trophies he’s won for no reason.

“When you’ve got young players working with a top player who’s won everything in the game, it really inspires them.”
Mikel has featured six times in the English Championship for Middlesbrough since winter arrival at the club.
He is expected to be in action when Boro host Brentford this afternoon (today) at the Riverside Stadium.
Middlesbrough are fifth in the Championship log with 58 points from 34 matches.
