Lagos state Commissioner for Health, Professor Akin Abayomi, has said that the Coronavirus outbreak is seemingly under control in the state. The commissioner made this statement at a press briefing yesterday April 9.
Professor Abayomi said;
From our data which we publish from time to time, we always talk about the curve but if I put it in simple terms, we are only seeing between 5 and 10 new cases everyday. which suggests that the outbreak is seemingly under control in Lagos state. If it was out of control, it would be seeing increasing number of cases on a daily basis. So whatever we are doing in Lagos is working ” he said
The first index case of COVID-19 was in February, an Italian man who has since been discharged. The state currently has 158 confirmed cases with 39 recoveries.
