Nigeria midfielder Ubong Friday has linked up with Armenian club Lori FC on a three and half year contract From Nigeria Professional Football League outfit Akwa United, reports Completesports.com.
Friday linked up with several other Nigerian players including Deou Dosa, Ekereuke Ekemini, Isah Aliyu, Udoh Etop, Uguchukwu Iwu and Umaru Ngbede at the club.
The midfielder was part of Nigeria’s home-based squad that finished second at the 2017 WAFU Cup competition in Ghana.
He was however dropped from the squad that also placed second at the 2019 African Nations Championship (CHAN) in Morocco last year.
Friday is one of the longest serving players at Akwa United who are looking to help the club win their first NPFL title this season.
He joined Akwa United from Akwa Starlets in the 2014/2015 season.
The talented midfielder was top scorer with six goals when Akwa United won the Nigeria Federation Cup in 2015.
FC Lori will host Artsakh in a league game on Wednesday but the match is coming too soon for the Nigerian.
Friday will look to make his debut for the club in the next league fixture against Banants.
Lori FC currently occupy fifth position in the Armenian Premier League.
