Super Eagles defensive duo, Kenneth Omeruo and Chidozie Awaziem were in superb form for Leganes as they helped the relegation-threatened club shut out home side Atletico Madrid in a 0-0 draw in Sunday’s LaLiga clash at the Wanda Metropolitan, Completesports.com reports.

Both Omeruo and Awaziem featured for 90 minutes for the Javier Aguirre’s men in the hard-fought away draw against one of LaLiga’ s biggest teams.

Despite coming up against the likes of Joao Felix, Alvaro Morata and Saul Niguez, Omeruo and Awaziem fought resiliently to stop them from finding the back of the net.

The game was Awaziem’ s 13th LaLiga game while Omeruo made his 14th appearance this season.

The draw however did not help Leganes out of the relegation zone. They remain in 19th position on 15 points, but are now just three points away from safety.

Diego Simeone’ Atletico Madrid now occupy the fourth spot on 36 points.
