The Nigerian Sports Minister Mr.Sunday Akin Dare should be tutored on the working sports in a country were fair is foul and foul is fair. Since assuming office,he has made some guff, which if he was properly guided such an error shouldn’t have occurred.

Last month, after meeting with the NFF board,he co-signed a communique with the embattled Nigeria Football Federation president Amaju Pinnick,an action that was widely condemned by many.

Recently,he announced the sacking of the Technical Director of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria AFN,Mr. Sunday Adeleye.

Mr Adeleye was removed amid efforts to reform the sports ministry, a statement said.

The special assistant to the Minister, Kola Daniel, said in a statement that Mr Dare also ordered the recall of AFN Secretary General, Elijah Ademu, to the ministry, while a new secretary would be announced in due course.

Adeleye’s removal followed the report of the Advisory Committee on the Poor Performance of Team Nigeria at the IAAF World Athletics Championships, Doha – Qatar 2019.

I am concerned with the sacking of Mr.Adeleye because the ministry lacks the power to carry out such action.

Some fundamental questions need answers because those who elected him had voted to recall him,an action taking by the AFN Congress, with the ministry acknowledging his removal.

How come that Mr.Adeleye still traveled to Doha as a Technical Director?

Who brought back Sunday Adeleye?

Why didn’t the advisory committee blamed the minister who recalled the Technical Director mid way during the IAAF championship in Doha?

When will the sports minister set up a committee to review Nigeria’s performance at the FIFA under 17 world cup in Brazil?

Many sports stakeholders are counting the many blunder of Sunday Dare,Nigeria’s sports minister.
