It’s been a few weeks since Burna Boy claimed his crown with his career-best album, African Giant, and we still can’t get enough of it. Now, the afro-fusion star has released his first music video since dropping the project, and it’s for one of the standout tracks, “Pull Up“.
Following “Gbona”, “On The Low”, “Killin Dem”, Dangote” and “Anybody”, “Pull Up” was the final single Burna Boy dropped in the run-up to the album’s release, and it quickly became a favourite, giving fans an idea of just how great the project would turn out to be.
Against a reliably solid beat, which still leaves room for his soothing vocals to shine, “Pull Up” finds Burna Boy confessing his feelings through sweetly-worded lyrics. On the track, he shows off a seldom seen romantic side, convincing an unsure lover that what they have is real.
For the accompanying video, which was directed by Meji Alabi (“On The Low”), we see Burna Boy living his best life, riding around London with a bunch of models. While he performs the song for most of the video, the vibrant colours make the simple clip immensely engaging.
