The Presidential Election Petition Tribunal has issued a subpoena order, mandating the Chairman of INEC, Professor Mahmood Yakubu and the Zamfara state REC to appear before it on Thursday, July 18, 2019.
The Presidential Tribunal made the order on Wednesday July 17, 2019 after the PDP lead counsel, Dr. Chris Uche informed the court that the PDP and Atiku/Obi legal team had served the INEC Chairman and the Zamfara REC, copies of the Order but they failed to comply.
In today’s sitting, the trial judge of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal, Justice Mohammed Garba, while delivering ruling on the request, ordered the INEC Chairman and the Zamfara REC to appear in court with some documents as requested by the PDP
The Court also ordered the INEC’s lead counsel, Yunus Usman (SAN) to ensure that the subpoena Order is complied with.
