Raphinha was the star of the show as he netted a hat-trick in Barcelona’s 4-1 win against Bayern Munich on matchday 3 of the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday.
It is Barcelona’s first win against Bayern since 2015 when a Lionel Messi brace and Neymar strike, earned the Catalans a 3-0 win in the Champions League semi-final first leg
The Bundesliga giants went into the game on the back of six straight wins against Barcelona.
Also, Bayern lost 1-0 to Aston Villa at Villa Park on matchday 2.
Raphinha got Barcelona off to the best start as he raced on to a through pass, rounded Manuel Neuer and slotted into the net.
In the 10th minute Harry Kane thought he had equalised for Bayern but his effort was ruled out for offside.
Kane eventually got on the score sheet in the 18th minute as he volleyed home a cross from Serge Gnabry.
Bayern former striker Robert Lewandowski restored Barcelona’s lead on 36 minutes as he slotted into an empty.
On the stroke of half time Raphinha made it 3-1 after receiving a long cross field pass, ran towards Bayern box beat his marker before curling tje ball beyond Neuer’s reach.
In the 56th minute Raphinha completed his hat-trick as he once again ran on a long pass before hitting a low shot past Neuer.
After three games played, Barcelona are in 10th place on six points while Bayern are in 23rd spot.
In other results, Manchester City thrashed Sparta Prague 5-0, Lille stunned Atletico Madrid 3-1 away, Feyenoord also recorded a 3-1 win at Benfica.
Also, Liverpool pipped Leipzig 1-0 away, Inter Milan edged Young Boys 1-0 on the road, Atalanta was held to a goalless draw by Celtic in Italy and Leverkusen held Brest to a 1-1 draw.
