Homeland Security officials conducted raids at the residences of American rapper Sean Diddy Combs, situated in Los Angeles and Miami.
The raid on Monday, led by Homeland Security Investigations agents, targeted the 17,000 square foot mansion where Combs had previously announced the release of his latest album in September.
Aerial footage captured law enforcement officers armed and patrolling the grounds of Combs’ Los Angeles estate.
Mobile command post vehicles were observed at both properties, with agents seen processing paperwork on makeshift card tables in Miami.
Given the considerable size of the properties, the process of locating and processing evidence is expected to take some time.
A spokesperson for Homeland Security Investigations stated that the raids were conducted as part of an “ongoing investigation.”
While executing the search warrant at Combs’ Los Angeles residence, his sons were temporarily detained outside the home, a standard procedure in such situations, before being released without charges.
The spokesperson further revealed that the operations were carried out with the help of HSI Los Angeles, HSI Miami, and local law enforcement partners.
Additional details will be provided as they become available.
Sources within law enforcement revealed that the searches were initiated as part of a federal investigation led by the Southern District of New York into allegations of sex trafficking involving the hip-hop producer.
However, no criminal charges have been filed in connection with the investigation thus far.
The raids come in the wake of a lawsuit filed last year by R&B singer Cassie (Casandra Ventura) against Combs, her former partner of over a decade.
In court documents, she accused him of rape and enduring years of physical and other abuses, though the lawsuit was later settled.
Subsequently, two other civil lawsuits alleging sexual assault, including one with accusations of sex trafficking, were filed against Combs in New York.
The rapper also faced accusations of sexual assault and harassment in another civil lawsuit filed by a former male employee, which Combs, through his attorney, vehemently denied.
KanyiDaily recalls that Sean ‘Diddy‘ Combs was recently dropped by 18 brands in the wake of sexual abuse claims against him.
