The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) has sealed off Sahad Stores Supermarket at Area 11 Garki, Abuja.
This development followed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s recent directive to clampdown on hoarders and speculators.
National Daily Newspaper learned that FCCPC accused the management of Sahad Store Supermarket of shortchanging customers by charging prices other than the official price tag on their shelves.
Following the development, residents expressed anger over the actions of the government, lamenting government policies are not always thought out to proffer long term solutions.
A Civil Servant who simply identified as Chris said the prices are increasing everyday and a shop as big as Sahad cannot update it price everyday.
According to him, business people have to sell at prevailing prices to keep their business running, else they will end up in huge debt.
Also Rebecca Adikwu an Entrepreneur said this is not the right move for government to take.
On his part, Kenneth Maduabuchi said, Nigeria’s problem is hydra headed and more complicated because those at the helm of affairs have no concrete plans for the control, their plans is just to be in power.

The FCCPC enforcement team was led by Acting Executive Vice Chairman of the agency, Adamu Ahmed Abdullahi.
Briefing journalists thereafter, Abdullahi said the commission’s preliminary investigation confirmed that the owners of the supermarket were short-changing customers.
He said the store would remain sealed until the completion of the further investigation, National Daily Newspaper gathered.
