A suspected thief has been nabbed while stealing electrical wire in the Gesse area of Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State.

One Sani Faruku, who disclosed this in a Facebook post on Monday, June 19, 2023, said the suspect identified simply as Awilo, and his accomplice, Tukur, allegedly stole electrical wiring from a shopping mall under construction last month.

Luck ran out of Awilo when he and Tukur returned to the site on Sunday night, June 18, 2023.

“Gesse’s men arrested a notorious electrical wiring thief named Awilo, who is originally from Argungu but lives in Gesse, in partnership with his friend Tukur.

The duo had earlier stolen the electrical wiring from a shopping mall that was under construction in Gesse about two months ago. However, last night, they returned for another heist, and this time, Awilo was caught while Tukur escaped.

We pray to God to protect us from the wickedness of such notorious thieves. May there be no more occurrences of such crimes in our society,” Faruku wrote.
