A woman who was abducted from her workplace by unknown gunmen in Anambra State has been rescued by a vigilante group.

The woman was said to be at her workplace when the yet-to-be-identified assailants invaded the place and captured her.

But while on their way to the Ozubulu area, Nnewi central of the state, they ran into the men of the vigilante group who rescued the victim from her captors.

The incident happened late on Thursday.

While recounting her ordeal, the victim in a video circulating online, narrated how the assailants stormed her office and forcefully ordered her into their car, but fortunately for her, help came from the vigilantes.

She was seen saying that the hoodlums tightly covered her face with cloth which made breathing impossible for her and almost suffocated her.

She explained that the captors opened up a little space in between her nostrils which enabled her to breadth after she had pleaded with them telling them she was hypertensive.

When contacted, the state police spokesman, said the command was not aware of the incident but promised to get back while they investigate it.
