As one of La Liga’s standout players, Samuel Chukwueze has been getting a lot of attention from big clubs in Europe. A week ago, we got news that Barcelona was interested in him, and now, reports have emerged that Liverpool is also making moves to land him.

Following his entry into Villarreal’s youth team in 2017, the club brought Chukwueze on to the senior team a year later – a decision that really paid off. The Umuahia-born player went on to impress with 10 goals and four assists in 47 appearances in all competitions.

According to Goal, Liverpool is looking to let go of Xherdan Shaqiri and use the money from his transfer to sign Chukwueze. This could work, considering that Liverpool isn’t looking to spend so much in the transfer market this summer, like they did last season.

We don’t know how much the Reds will be bringing to the table for Chukwueze, but it has to be a large sum because Villarreal is hesitant to let him go and, yeah, he’s currently (and rather unsurprisingly) rated as Africa’s most valuable under-20 player.
