2023: Obasanjo Will Support Atiku To Become Nigeria’s President – Aide

A spokesman for the Atiku Abubakar campaign, Charles Aniagwu has stated that former Nigerian president, Olusegun Obasanjo will support his former vice to emerge winner in the 2023 elections.

Aniagwu said Obasanjo knows the capability of the presidential hopeful.

The Commissioner for Information in Delta, spoke with reporters on Wednesday in Asaba.

He recalled how Obasanjo supported the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate during the last general election.

Aniagwu said between 1999 and 2007, Atiku assisted the one time Head of State to reposition the nation’s economy.

“Atiku was more or less Obasanjo’s candidate, so if he supported him that much, I don’t think anything has changed between 2019 and now.

“The same God that led him to support Atiku in 2019 is still alive and will lead him to know that Atiku.

“Obasanjo saw the ability of Atiku in 1999, and he chose him against all odds to become his running mate”, NAN quoted him saying.

The media aide said they were optimistic that Obasanjo, will in the interest of Nigeria and in line with his patriotic ideals, support Atiku in 2023.

Aniagwu insisted that the former vice president has what it takes to rescue the country from the current situation.

On the disagreement in the PDP, the commissioner said Atiku recognised the fact that there were some issues, and would lead the team to address them.
