Divine Oduduru has done it again. After running this year’s world fastest time in the 100 metres and 200 metres barely a month ago, the athlete just became the first to finish a 100-metre race in less than 10 seconds at the Big 12 Outdoor Championships.

The Big 12 Conference is an athletic conference involving students from various universities in the US. Just as he’s been doing in his last few races since moving to the US, the 22-year-old represented Texas Tech University at the competition on Sunday.

ACL Sports reports that he ran the race in 9.99 seconds, well ahead of the first runner-up who finished in 10.29 seconds. The record now surpasses that of Prezel Hardy Jr., who finished the race in 10.03 seconds in 2012.

It also doubles as the Stadium Record, overtaking the 43-year-old record held by John Garrison, who finished in 10.04 seconds. Not only did that help Texas Tech win the championships for the fourth time, but it also helped Oduduru qualify for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.
