The role Dokpesi played to lure Lagos4Lagos movement into PDP

Ahead of the 2023 general elections, there are varying permutations and strategies designed by influential politicians and power brokers to achieve their political goals.

Available reports have shown that the main opposition People’s Democratic Party is working to end Tinubu’s political influence in the state by joining forces with APC group to achieve its goal.

A report by National Daily revealed that Lagos4Lagos Movement, a group in APC seeking to end Tinubu’s godfatherism in Lagos State has fused into PDP to join forces with the main opposition party to achieve its aim in 2023.

PDP has not been able to win Lagos State since 1999, the goal of the opposition party ahead of the 2023 general elections is to end Tinubu’s political dominance in the state for it to defeat the ruling All Progressives Congress.

The Lagos4Lagos Movement that merged its structure into PDP is a popular group within the Lagos State chapter of APC led by Abdul-azeez Olajide Adediran popularly known as Jandor. The group has been gaining popularity in Lagos after it announced its intention to end Tinubu’s godfathersim in the State.

A Board of Trustee member of PDP, Chief Raymond Dokpesi played key role that lured the APC group seeking to end Tinubu’s dominance into the opposition party.

Recall that Dokpesi led a high-powered delegation of PDP to meet the leaders of Lagos4Lagos Movement in November to join forces ahead of the 2023 governorship election in the State.

The PDP chieftain had acknowledged the influence of Lagos4Lagos Movement and sought to collaborate with the group to achieve the desired change in Lagos state.

As the Lagos4Lagos Movement eventually merged its structure into PDP, the smart move might boost the chances of PDP to end Tinubu’s dominance in Lagos politics in 2023 and win the state for the first time since 1999.
