Director General, Press and Media Affairs to Yobe State Governor and National Chairman, All Progressives Congress, APC Caretaker/ExtraOrdinary Convention Planning Committee, (CECPC) Mai Mala Buni, Mamman Mohammed has stated that there is no disagreement between his principal (Buni) and the Senate President of the 9th National Assembly, Senator Ahmad Lawan.

Reacting to report in the Daily Independent Newspaper of Friday, 7th May 2021 with caption: “Fresh Crisis in APC as Lawan, Buni Bicker over 2023 Presidency,” Mamman said It is regrettable and unimaginable that a National Daily could resort to junk journalism to publish a false, delusive, fallacious and a misleading figment of somebody’s imagination.

According to the DG in a press statement made available to the Daily Times in Abuja on Friday also said It is surprising that such unethical and unprofessional fabrications can be a lead story in any acclaimed National Newspaper.

“For the avoidance of doubt, there is no disagreement as a grain of wheat, between the President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan and the Governor of Yobe state, who doubles as Chairman APC Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, Mai Mala Buni.

“However, we are conscious of the satanic plans being orchestrated by some mischievous elements to cause disaffection to distract the the CECPC from the onerous task of rebuilding the party and, to discredit the President Muhammadu Buhari led government.”

Mohammed noted that the two leaders remains
good brothers in a very good relationship with common goal of contributing to the development of their states, party and country.

“Governor Buni, wishes to make it abundantly clear that he is heavily preoccupied with the task of governance of his state and rebuilding the party saying; “it amounts to insubordination for any loyal party member to start canvassing for any political office two years into the tenure of a sitting President from the party.

“It should be noted that President Muhammadu Buhari has two more years to complete his tenure, it is compulsory on the party and every loyal member to support him and the APC administration. We cannot contemplate anything outside the set plans of the party.

“It is most unfortunate, if Daily Independent can be a tool of spreading falsehood or to play into the hands of ambitious politicians with sinister plans against the APC.”

He urged the media to resist any form of manipulation and stand for truth and justice at all times.
