Economic Climate: The government and people of Yobe State are ready to promote rapid indus trial development of their young state. To encourage potential investors, the government has embarked upon the provision of basic industrial infrastructure for the commencement of larger scale industrial ventures in the state.

Aside from the current moves to boost total electricity supply to the state, the government is also engaged in the electrification of all local government areas and district headquarters. The construction of access roads, and dams to supply potable water to various parts of the state, is also in pursuit vigorously.

The government has made land acquisition easy as a matter of policy. Priority is given to speedy processing of applications for land meant for industrial and commercial projects and, in addition, industrial and commercial layouts are being developed all over the state in order to make it easier for investors to acquire land.

Other incentives include tax holidays for the first five years, which could be extended subsequently. In addition, model factory sheds are being developed. These are given to industrialists before they can develop theirs, in terms of agricultural investments, the Yobe State government has been giving all the necessary encouragement to farmers, with a view to increasing their hectarage substantially by way of making available to them agricultural inputs, such as tractors, ox drawn ploughs, fertilizers, pesticides, et cetera.

Towards this end, the government has established the Yobe State Agricultural Mechanisation Authority (YOSAMA) with the primary responsibility of hiring tractors, harrows, caterpillars etc. to farmers at reasonable rates, as well as disposing of hire purchase farm implements.
