Nigeria’s COVID-19 cases near 10,000 mark

Nigeria’s index cases for COVID-19 is closing in on the 10,000 mark as the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Saturday night confirmed another 553 cases, the highest in a single day since the outbreak of the pandemic in the country in February.

This now brings the total infections in the country to 9,855.

According to the NCDC in a post on its Twitter page, Lagos, the most hit State by the coronavirus pandemic, recorded 378 new cases, while FCT had 52.

Out of the new 553 cases, Delta had 23, Edo-22; Rivers-14; Ogun-13; Kaduna-12; Kano-9.

Others are Borno-7; Katsina-6; Jigawa-5; Oyo-5; Yobe-3; Plateau-3 and Osun-1
