Governor Gboyega Oyetola of Osun
Osun State has recorded its first two Coronavirus deaths since the pandemic began, Governor Gboyega Oyetola said on Sunday.
The deceased persons were among the twelve new COVID-19 patients admitted at the Osun state isolation centre.
According to Oyetola, who spoke with newsmen in Osogbo, Osun. the two deaths occurred in Ile-Ife and Ede areas of the state.
Oyetola urged residents to comply with government’s directive on mandatory use of face masks and observe social distancing as part of efforts to curb community transmission of the disease.
The governor asked security operatives in the state, particularly those manning the land borders not to compromise on the restriction of movement of persons from outside the state.
Osun State recorded 12 Coronavirus cases on Saturday, taking its overall confirmed cases to 32.
The state has been able to manage and discharge 18 patients and now recorded two deaths, with active cases standing at 10.
