Social media influencer, Chude Nnamdi who was recently arrested and detained by the police for alleged cyberstalking has recounted the ordeal of several inmates he met while in custody.

Chude Nnamdi Thanks Peter Obi, Sowore As He Regains Freedom After 6 Days In Police Custody

Recall that on March 18, Chude was arrested by the police in Anambra state and taken to Abuja, the country’s capital, where the force confirmed that the influencer was detained for alleged cyberstalking.

Chude, a staunch supporter of the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, was released on Friday, March 24, after spending six days in several police detention facilities.

Taking to his official Twitter handle on Thursday, the social media influencer in a long post, said while in detention, he met a lot of inmates whose stories broke his heart.

According to him, some of the inmates have spent 5-8 months in the cell for bailable offenses and many abandoned.

Nnamdi Chude disclosed that after their stories, he promised himself that he will help as many inmates, adding that he has so far, helped three inmates regain their freedom.

While revealing a particular inmate named Nnamdi Emeh, who exposed killings and an organ harvesting ring, the social media influencer called on civil societies, human rights organisations, and other concerned bodies to please intervene in the whistler blower’s case.

He wrote, “While in detention at the Force CID Abuja, I met a lot of inmates who their story broke my heart.

“Some have spent 5-8 months in the cell for bailable offenses & many abandoned.

“I promised myself to help as many as I can & so far, I’ve helped 3 inmates regain their freedom.

“There’re many poor inmates who have been there for months because they can’t afford a lawyer or find sureties. Many of them are there for light offences and many are also innocent.

“Lot of innocent people are perishing due to the Nigeria Judiciary’s poor and slow system.

“I’ve been helping some of the forgotten inmates financially since then.

“Many of the inmates there survive by begging with No hope or external help. I don’t think I can put everything in writing, it’s tough, very tough.

Nnamdi is one of the inmates I met in detention

“The last time I visited the station, he cried to me bitterly, I’ve not slept well ever since then

“He was recently transferred to Anambra. & nobody is allowed to see him since then

“Why has the police refused to charge him in court?

“I call on Civil societies, human rights organizations, and other concern bodies to please intervene in Nnamdi Emeh’s case.🙏”

In other news, Kanyi Daily reported that former Kaduna Senator, Shehu Sani has reminded the federal government of its promise to start producing aircraft before the end of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.
