In a statement late Saturday by the Special Adviser to the President, Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, Buhari said the Nigeria-born boxer’s resilient spirit was commendable.

He lauded Joshua for his courage and discipline, on and off the ring and prayed that his success would be a stepping stone to one of the greatest comebacks in boxing history.

Joshua, a former world heavyweight champion, got back to winning ways on Saturday night at the 02 Arena in London with a unanimous decision win over Franklin.
