Rio Ferdinand, a former Manchester United defender, has talked about Crtstiano Ronaldo.
He revealed what made Cristiano Ronaldo almost shed tears during their time together at Old Trafford.
Ferdinand said that the Portugal international is so competitive that even a defeat in a worthless competition would bring tears to his eyes.
He said the veteran striker would often come to tears whenever he was beaten at table tennis before training.
Ferdinand said that he would play against Ronaldo most mornings with him (Ferdinand) winning more often and Ronaldo, who was a teenager at the time, used to get frustrated after losing.
He said the squad would mock the Portuguese goal machine for being competitive and taking hard losses.
“We used to play every other day before training, as part of the warm-up. I used to smash him all over the place,” he told Kyle and Jackie O radio show.
“He did beat me… it was me and him, [ranked] one and two, like [Roger] Federer and [Rafael] Nadal. If it was televised, it would have broken records. He used to, like, almost cry and that, he was so competitive.”
