Tony Otuonye
The Department of State Services, DSS, arrested Tony Otuonye, the Director of Abia State Signage and Advertisement Agency (ABSAA), earlier today for inciting electoral violence.
The politician is the Director-General of the Abia State Signage and Advertising Agency (ABSAA).
Operatives of the State Command reportedly took him into custody on Monday after he threatened to eliminate persons who stand in the way of PDP’s victory this weekend.
At a rally ahead of Saturday’s gubernatorial and state assembly elections, Otuonye declared his party’s governorship candidate Okey Ahiwe must win.
Speaking in Igbo language, the appointee of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu charged PDP members and supporters not to be afraid of the opposition.
“Instead that we will not succeed, we will sacrifice human beings as scapegoats. Instead of us to lose, we will use human heads for sacrifice…feed on their liver,” he said.
The youthful Otunoye added that he and others already consulted “the spirits and humans” and confirmed PDP will emerge victorious.
The Abia State Police Command allegedly dragged foot after the video went viral prompting the DSS to swing into action.
Ahiwe is running against Labour Party’s Alex Otti, All Progressive Grand Alliance’s Greg Ibe, All Progressives Congress’s Ikechi Emenike, and Young Peoples Party’s Nana Nwafor.
