Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the just concluded presidential election, Peter Obi has consoled controversial Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi over the death of his mother.
Peter Obi Reacts To Death Of Sheikh Gumi’s Mother
Gumi, who had announced the death of his mother on his Facebook handle, said her death occurred on Sunday evening at about 5.30 pm.
It was learned that his mother was buried at Unguwar Sarki Muslim cemetery, according to Islamic rites.
Gumi said on his verified Facebook, “Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi rajiun.Today at 5.30 pm, with a sad heart, I announce the death of my dear mother.”
Taking to his official Twitter handle, Peter Obi sent his condolences to Gumi.

Peter Obi said he cannot begin to imagine the pains the family is going through at the moment.
He prayed that God strengthens Gumi and comfort the entire family over her irreplaceable loss, and grant her eternal rest.
He wrote, “I send my sincere condolences to Sheikh Gumi, an Islamic scholar, and cleric, over the death of his beloved mother. I cannot begin to imagine the pains the family is going through at the moment.
“I pray that God will strengthen you and comfort the entire Gumi family over her irreplaceable loss, and grant her eternal rest.”
