Dr. Aishatu Abubakar, the coordinating Assistant Inspector-General of Police for the Federal Capital Territory, and the Commissioner of Police FCT, Dr Sadiq Abubakar, alongside heads of other security agencies met with political party chairmen and candidates on Tuesday, ahead of the 2023 general election scheduled for Saturday, February 25.
According to a statement by the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, the meeting discussed practical options to ensuring peaceful and credible elections.
She also noted that the participants signed a peace accord.
Adeh said, “The coordinating AIG for the FCT, Dr Aishatu Abubakar, and the CP FCT, Dr Sadiq Abubakar, alongside heads of other security agencies in the FCT held a meeting with chairmen and candidates of political parties, members of the youth council and strategic stakeholders.
“The meeting discussed practical options to ensure peaceful and credible elections in the FCT. The participants equally signed a peace accord in preparation for the 2023 general elections.”
