The Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi has revealed why he must prioritise the war against insecurity as his first task in office if elected as president.
Peter Obi Reveals He Must Prioritise War Against Insecurity
Obi stated this in a Twitter thread on Tuesday night while reacting to the killing of Mrs. Victoria Chintex, the Labour Party’s women leader in Kaura, Kaduna State, by yet-to-be-identified gunmen.
It was gathered that the killers raided her residence on Monday and killed Mrs. Chintex while injuring her husband in the leg.
According to Obi, Nigerians must not allow the waste of human lives in Nigeria under any guise.
He expressed shock over the killing of Mrs. Chintex, describing it as a huge loss to her immediate and extended family, and to Labour Party.
While stating that she lives on in “our hearts,” the LP presidential candidate prayed that may her soul rest in peace.
He also sent condolences to the deceased family.
He wrote, “I am shocked by the mindless killing of Mrs. Victoria Chintex, the Labour Party’s women leader in Kaura, Kaduna State, by yet-to-be-identified gunmen. Her death is a huge loss to her immediate and extended family and our Labour Party. She lives on in our hearts.
“Her killing, and the loss of many innocent lives across the nation to gunmen and terrorists, are the reason why I must prioritize the war against insecurity as my first task in office. We must not allow the waste of human lives in Nigeria under any guise.
“May the soul of the Late Mrs. Victoria Chintex rest in perfect peace. My sincere condolence to her family.”
