Terrorists went on rampage in the early hours of Saturday and killed two locals at Gidan Diyam, in Katsina.

They also kidnapped two others in Dayi community under Malumfashi Local Government Area, Katsina State.

A building material seller, Ejike Hyginus, popularly refered to as ‘Yellow’, and one Mustapha, a health worker attached to the Dayi Primary Healthcare, were kidnapped in the new onslaught on the community.

“In order to have access to Yellow’s compound, the bandits pulled down completely the entrance gate to his residence. When they entered into his house, they demanded money but he had no money in the house to give them. Before dragging him away, they also collected his wife’s phone,” a source privy to the incident told DAILY POST.

According to the source, the hoodlums also stopped over at Mustapha’s residence which is nearby to “Yellow’s” and took him captive before proceeding to the next.

However, in the third house, the family head reportedly escaped by jumping the fence. After breaking into his premises, they met his wife who just delivered a twin baby but freed her because of the babies.

As at the time of filing this report, the bandits are yet to contact the victims’ families to make any demand.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer in the State, SP Gambo Isah, said he has not been briefed but would contact the DPO of the area and revert.

Dayi is the hometown of the dogged Assistant Commissioner of Police and former Dutsinma Area Commander, ACP Aminu Umar, killed by terrorists few months back.
