Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate for African Action Congress (AAC) was interviewed by Arise News on 28th September, 2022. During this interview, Sowore explained why he said he would remove police/military barracks and legalise Marijuana as the next president of Nigeria if he wins the elections in 2023.

According to Sowore, the reason why he would remove the police/military barracks and legalise Marijuana is all for the benefit of the country.

He stated that he will remove the barracks because when they are in bad condition and money is being allocated by the government to refurbish it, the money gets misused. However, he will replace these barracks with FORTS like the ones in the United States.

He stated that these forts will be used for mobilization, training and even events. Also, he made mention of building a temporary housing for them.

Now, regarding legislation of marijuana, Sowore pointed out that the last time he talked about this herb was 4 years ago and he was mocked, but now it is a goldmine. He said he would follow Canada’s example by growing Marijuana on a large scale to help diversify the economy.

In his words, he said, “Canada is making over $4 billion annually from legalising marijuana. We can follow their example and diversify our economy by growing it as well”.
