Nnamdi Okafor, the majority leader of the Anambra State House of Assembly, has passed away.
In the wee hours of Tuesday, August 23, 2022, in a hotel in Sandton City, Johannesburg, South Africa, Hon. Okafor, who was representing Awka South Constituency 1, collapsed and was pronounced dead several hours later.
The legislator and other House of Assembly members were in South Africa for a parliamentary retreat, according to AIF media.
At the time this report was submitted, the reason for his death remained unknown.
