Vigilantes Gun Down ‘Female Kidnapper,’ Arrest 12 Suspects In Kaduna

A female kidnapper has been gunned down in Kaduna State by vigilantes.

The members of ‎Kaduna State Vigilance Service in collaboration with some youth gunned down a suspected female kidnapper and arrested 12 others in Lere Local Government Area of the state.

Daily Trust reports that the vigilantes had raided the kidnappers’ den located at Garun Kurama Ward in Mariri Unit of the LGA on Tuesday.

A community leader, who did not mention his name for security reasons, confirmed the incident, saying the community were being terrorised by bandits.

“It was true that the suspected kidnappers were arrested on Tuesday. We are suffering from their activities in this area,” he said.

Similarly, a vigilante, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the female suspect was killed during the raid around 3pm.

“We arrested 13 kidnappers, from their hideout with the community youths. We destroyed the camp and one female suspect was killed on the spot,” he said.

According to him, those arrested were handed over to police.

But when contacted the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Mohammed Jalige, promised to find out about the incident and get back to our correspondent. He has however yet to do so as of the time of filing this report.
