Another chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State has confirmed he has informed President Muhammadu Buhari of his presidential ambition.

The Ebonyi governor made this known in a chat with State Correspondents on Tuesday after a meeting with Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Umahi’s declaration to run for the 2023 presidency comes a day after the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, announced his presidential bid.

Speaking with reporters on Monday after a meeting with the president, Tinubu said his ambition to be President has been a life-long ambition.

The APC leader noted that what he did in Lagos in his time as governor, he has the capacity to do in the entire country.

While noting that he is yet to publicly disclose his ambition, Tinubu stated that he was still in consultations with various individuals and groups across the country.

The APC national leader refused to comment when asked about the presidential ambition of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.

On why he would not remain a kingmaker, Tinubu said nothing stops a kingmaker from becoming the king unless he has committed murder.
