The Lagos State Government has stated that on Tuesday, January 4, 2022, all public and private schools in the state below the tertiary level will reopen for the second term of the 2021/2022 academic year.
Mrs. Abiola Seriki-Ayeni, Director-General, Office of Education Quality Assurance, said this on Friday in a statement headed, ‘Lagos public and private schools reopen Tuesday, January 4, 2022, for second term’.
Seriki-Ayeni stated that all kids are required to return to school on the same day because academic activities begin on the same day.
“The Director-General wishes the students and teachers happy resumption while enjoining all school leaders to enforce strict compliance with all subsisting COVID-19 safety protocols in the state.
“School leaders should also note that the Mid-Term break for the second term is Thursday 17th and Friday 18th of February, 2022 while school closes on Friday 8th April, 2022,” the statement added.
In order to prepare for academic activities, Seriki-Ayeni advised boarding students to return on Monday, January 3, 2022.
The Office of Education Quality Assurance will monitor compliance with the resume date in the Lagos State Unified Academic Calendar, as well as supervise the teaching and learning process in schools, she added.
