Contrary to media reports that the Son-in-law to the former governor of Imo state, Chief Uche Nwosu was not kidnapped earlier today inside St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Eziama-Obaire in Nkwerre Local Government, the Nigeria Police says he was arrested.

Recall that eyewitnesses had alleged that gunmen stormed the church while service was still on and shot into the air and bundled the former governorship candidate in Imo state into the trunk of a waiting vehicle.

However, in a statement issued by the spokesman of the Imo state Police Command, CSP Michael Abattam on Sunday, the Command stated that Chief Uche Nwosu was not kidnapped but was arrested by the police and Imo state police command is aware of the arrest and presently he is in police custody.
