KanyiDaily had reported that Prince Kpokpogri was arrested on Monday after a public altercation with Tonto Dikeh over a Luxus SUV he allegedly gave her.

The police also confirmed that the politician was arrested on Monday for attempting to cause a breach of peace at the Transcorp Hilton in Abuja.

Before his arrest, Prince Kpokpogri was said to have become violent and was allegedly raining insults and curses on the police while trying to retrieve his Luxus SUV from Tonto Dikeh.

Police said that his arrest is to enable him to regain his sanity after which he would be questioned about the ownership of the vehicle in question.

However, when contacted on Instagram live on Tuesday, Prince Kpokpogri denied being detained and claimed that he was in his house when news of his arrest at an Abuja hotel went viral.

The politician, who claimed to have been in his mansion since on Monday, also insisted that photos of him being arrested at the time were all photoshopped.

But a video circulating on social media shows the moment Kpokpogri was being freed from police custody on Tuesday, following interventions of his friends intervened.

In the video, the politician could be seen getting a feel of his hands, supposedly because he had been in handcuffs for a while in police custody.
