The Governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi, has insisted he visited Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in London recently to show support for the recovering politician.

Fayemi stated this while speaking on Arise TV on Sunday.

According to him, Tinubu underwent surgery and his visit had nothing to do with the 2023 presidential election.

He said, “He (Akeredolu) and I were in London together to see our leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. It had absolutely nothing to do with any 2023 presidential plans whatsoever.

“Asiwaju had surgery, it is simply proper etiquette or behaviour both in the part of the country where I come from but also generally that when a friend and elder is undergoing health challenges, it would be improper on your part not to show solidarity and support.

“It has nothing to do with 2023; let me make that absolutely clear.”
