At least twelve Nigerian troops and local vigilantes have been slain in Borno by the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP).

Terrorists planted improvised explosive devices (IEDs) on the road that a military convoy traveling from Marte to Maiduguri would pass over.

Soldiers who had been granted leave to leave the Marte unit were escorted by the motorcade.

According to PRNigeria, the troops were ambushed at Ala village, which is located between Marte and Dikwa town.

The terrorists lurking nearby opened fire as one of their vehicles collided with the IED.

The raid came on the same day when forces fought ISWAP at a military camp in Borno’s Malam Fatori and Yobe’s Babangida hamlet.

After defeating Boko Haram, ISWAP is cementing its control in Sambisa. Aboubacar Oucacha Fiya is the commander of the fighters.
