The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Yobe State said it has suspended the Continue Voter Registration (CVR) exercise to facilitate the display of new entrants’ registers between Tuesday 21 September 2021 and Monday 4 October 2021.
This is contained in a press statement issued on Tuesday and signed by the Head of Department Operations which indicated that the preliminary register of voters will be displayed in all 17 Local Government Areas INEC offices as from 24 to 30 September 2021.
“The essence of the display is to give the registrants the opportunity to inspect and ensure that there was no mistake in their particulars and make the necessary corrections in them.
“The Commission will entertain any claims and objections made with the view to updating the registers and prepare for the production of the PVC”, it said.
According to the electoral body, the second phase of the CVR exercise will commence on Monday the 4th of October, 2021, in all designated centres of the state headquarters and local government area INEC offices.
