Unidentified gunmen stormed the ECWA church in Kogi State, killing one person and kidnapping two more.
The church lies in the Kogi State town of Okadayo-Kabba, along the Okene road.
The attack comes just days after a break-in at the Federal minimum correctional center in Kabba and the kidnapping of three poultry farmers at their property in the same area.
According to reports, unidentified gunmen opened fire on congregants during a church service, killing one person on the spot.
Two more people who were shot, according to an eyewitness who requested anonymity, are currently undergoing treatment in an unnamed hospital.
According to him, Chief J.O.T Oshadumo, the Pioneer Provost of College of Education Technical Kabba, and another person were kidnapped, while his wife and some students were shot.
Moses Olorunleke, the Chairman of Kabba-Bunu Local Government, verified this to DAILY POST and stated that details of the attack would be made public soon.
Attempts to contact DSP William Aya, the Police Public Relations Officer, for more information were unsuccessful because he was claimed to be in church.
