IPOB Sit-at-home: South-East Students May Miss WAEC Exam

Due to the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) order, students in the South-East may skip the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) sitting on Monday.

Every Monday, the organization instructed residents in the region to avoid schools, markets, banks, and other public venues.

The directive was given in response to the federal government’s handling of Biafra agitator Nnamdi Kanu.

Those who default are occasionally targeted. Vehicles, stores, and other property have been destroyed in the past.

IPOB’s acts, according to the Coalition of South-East Youth Leaders (COSEYL), endanger the lives of innocent civilians.

President Goodluck Ibem and Secretary Kanice Igwe issued a joint statement lamenting the ill effects of the weekly lockdown on social and economic activity.

It stated that WAEC candidates were at risk of having their papers disrupted, resulting in incomplete results.

“Our secondary school students sitting for WAEC examinations will be writing English Language on September 13 and we cannot afford to have them miss the paper.

”Asking these students to sit-at-home on Monday when others will be writing the same examination is the worst disservice anyone can do to our students”, COSEYL noted.

The body regretted that many who depend on daily income are at the receiving end of the IPOB order and called for its total cancelation.
