
Eight people were slain in a new attack on farmers in the villages of Buruku and Udaw in the Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State by suspected bandits.
On Saturday, armed men attacked the victims while they were working in their farms, according to reports.
It may be recalled that the two communities along the Kaduna-Birnin Gwari highway have recently been subjected to continuous attacks.
ASP Jalige Mohammed, the State Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the attacks when reached by DAILY POST.
He was unable to provide further specifics about the tragedy, stating that the exact number of deaths could not be determined at this time.
“Yes, there was an incident in the area and some persons were killed”.
“We don’t have the details of the incident yet but we have sent our men to the area to gather information”, he added.
