Mob Action: Commotion As Okada Man Is Set Ablaze In Jigawa After False Accusation

According to a report by Daily Post, suspected hoodlums have allegedly set an okada man ablaze at Babaldu village in B/Kudu local Government area of Jigawa State.

The suspects set the Okada man identified as Aliyu Ya’u of Birnin Kudu town on fire after accusing him of stealing a motorcycle.

Police spokesman ASP Lawan Shiisu Adam confirmed the incident to DAILY POST.

He said the incident happened on Thursday at about 80:00pm at Babaldu village.

He explained that Mr. Aliyu was accused of stolen Boxer Motorcycle at Babaldu village, the suspected thief was therefore chased by a mob, killed and set ablaze.

Adam said police investigation, however, revealed that the incident occurred when the deceased was on his way from his farm in Ningi, mistakenly taking another person’s motorcycle leaving his own.

“As a result, the owners of the motorcycle chased the suspect down, killed and set him ablaze instantly”

“The Police recovered the two Boxer Motorcycles, one with reg no. LAR 603U, while the other one without registration no”

He said six persons were arrested in connection with the mob action while the case has been transferred to the SCIID for discrete investigation.
