President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed sorrow over the murder of Muhammad Ahmad, a lawmaker from Zamfara State, who was shot and killed by gunmen while traveling from Shema to Funtua in Katsina State.
On Thursday in Abuja, the president expressed his condolences through his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu.
“I am horrified by the unfortunate circumstances in which the legislator died while taking his son to Kano to catch a flight,” he said.
Buhari reaffirmed his order to law enforcement agencies and the military to deal firmly with anti-social groups bent on killing innocent individuals and instilling fear and uncertainty in the public under any pretext.
The president prayed, “May Allah forgive the soul of the departed and allow his family the courage to bear this terrible loss.” (NAN)
