US former President Donald Trump has delivered another one following the Twitter ban by Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari.
In a statement he titled, ‘Statement by Donald Trump, 45th President of the United States,’ Trump congratulated Nigeria on the decision.
Nigeria suspended the platform for deleting Buhari’s post while leaving Nnamdi Kanu’s threatening to kill soldiers.
“More countries should ban Twitter and Facebook for not allowing free and open speech – all voices should be heard,” Trump said, urging competitors to “emerge and take hold” of the opportunity.
“Who are they to dictate good and evil?”
He then revealed how Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg fawned on him when his government was about to slam the social media platform.
“Zukerberg kept calling me and coming to White House for dinner telling me how great I was. 2024?” he concluded.
Facebook had been on the side of Trump in the lead-up to the 2020 election when Twitter was censoring his posts.
But Zuckerberg switched alliance when he saw the tide turn against Trump.
He has banned the former president on the platform for the next two years.
