An irate crowd burned a man and the car he was traveling in with two other men in Iyana Ipaja, Agege, Lagos State, over allegations of kidnapping three people.

One of the guys died on the way to the police station, according to witnesses, while the other fled with injuries.

The suspected kidnappers’ fate was sealed, according to witnesses, when a biker raised the alarm that there were three persons in the car’s boot.

When the boot was opened, the mob discovered a woman and her two children bound together by ropes. They noticed that one of the youngsters had died of asphyxia, while the other was struggling for air.

The mob converged on the kidnappers and thrashed them into submission. One was completely burned, another died on the way to the police station, and the third managed to flee with minor injuries.

The event is being investigated by the police.
