Barely 48 hours after gas explosion rocked Conference Hotel in Abeokuta owned by former Ogun state governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, another gas explosion Thursday hit former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s Presidential Library (OOPL), leaving two persons dead.
The Obasanjo’s Presidential Library is directly opposite the Daniel’s hotel rocked by gas explosion on Tuesday.
The explosion occurred at about 11: am at the Macque event centre within the Obasanjo Presidential Library.
The explosion will be the fourth recorded in the last one week in the Ogun state capital.
Findings revealed that the OOPL explosion occurred while the staff of the library was doing a routine cleaning.
It was gathered that it was one of the gas cylinders in the event centre that exploded.
An eye witness at the scene, stated that some dead bodies have been taken away by a rescue team that arrived the scene shortly after the incident.
When our correspondent visited the library, it was observed that both gates at the entrance and the exit were under lock and key .
Attempts to gain access failed as the guards at the gates sent everyone away.
