KanyiDaily recalls that the NDLEA had arrested CDQ in his Lekki home on Wednesday night for allegedly being in possession of some substance known as ‘loud’ ― a cannabis variant.

He was that after being detained for some hours, CDQ was subsequently granted bail and was asked to return to the anti-drug law enforcement agency for further investigations.

Reacting in a statement issued on his Instagram page on Friday, CDQ said he was not in possession of any illegal substance when personnel of the NDLEA stormed his Lekki residence.

“Given the recent allegations made against me bothering on possession of drugs and other related matters, I wish to state in very clear terms that I have never been in possession of any illegal substance in whatsoever form, neither have I ever had any cause to process, traffic, sell or use any illegal substance.

“I am not unmindful of the fact that the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) is statutorily empowered to enforce laws against the general utilization of prohibited drugs and their activities should be done within the ambit of the law.

“However, my experience with the officers of the NDLEA on the 14th day of April 2021, right from the moment I was purportedly arrested from my house to the point and manner with which my statements were taken, proved otherwise.”

The rap artiste stated that based on the recent incident, he instructed his legal counsel to look into the matter.

“That said, it is imperative to mention that I have instructed my legal counsel to ensure that the allegation/matter in its entirety, inclusive of the defamatory statements by several persons, is followed to a logical end,” CDQ said.

“Even though I reserve the right to respond to various falsehoods against me as published on several blogs, news sites, etc, that I was arrested with a cannabis variant, I urge the entire public to please note that I was not found with any form/variant of any illegal substance on the day I was purportedly arrested at my Lekki residence.

“There was no conclusive report by the NDLEA on any wrongdoing, neither have I been convicted by any court of competent jurisdiction concerning the foregoing.

“Again, I do not engage myself with any illegal substance for any reason(s) whatsoever. I am committed to doing my very best as a professional recording artiste and ensuring that I am a law-abiding citizen of this country.”

KanyiDaily recalls that CDQ recently called out his colleague, Burna Boy, for allegedly disrespecting a former Super Eagles striker, Obafemi Martins.
