Emergency responders have been deployed to the scene of the accident to douse the fire and ease vehicular movement.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) had initially said the incident involved five vehicles–two tankers, two trailers, and a car.
However, in an update of the situation, the state fire service said seven vehicles were involved.
“The Fire involving Seven Vehicles at the Otedola Bridge area has been doused by @LagosRescue as mop up is being concluded now,” it said.
LASTMA, in its update said the affected vehicles have been “evacuated to one side of the road while 2 lanes available for movement presently, but traffic beyond Ogudu at the moment”.
