

Mr Olakunle Oluomo, the Speaker of Ogun House of Assembly, has said that the parliament will continue to enact bills that will promote socio-economic development of the state.
Oluomo said this when he received in his office the representatives of Yoruba Council of Youths Worldwide, led by its Deputy National President, Adeleke Olukoya, in Abeokuta on Thursday.
The speaker said that the 9th assembly under his watch was committed to ensuring rapid growth, which would further improve local economy of the state.
He added that the assembly had been engaging developmental partners at achieving more stable foundations for sustainable growth and development of the state.
Oluomo also said that the Anti-grazing bill pending before the assembly would soon be passed.
The speaker also said that the state was fashioning out plans to introduce local attire in all public schools in the state, adding that the state government had made the wearing of ‘Adire’ fabric part of its policy.
Earlier, the Deputy National President of Yoruba Council of Youths Worldwide, Mr Adeleje Olukoya, said that all hands must be on deck to jointly provide Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) to the Agriculture sector.
He said that such investment would bring about agricultural development, youth empowerment and improved security.
Also speaking, the President of Yoruba Council of Women Worldwide, Mrs Folashade Olabanji-Oba, said that the council was established with the utmost interest of promoting Yoruba tradition, norms and cultural heritage among the youth.
Olabanji-Oba stated that its establishment was targeted at achieving appropriate re-orientation, re-vitalisation and rebirth of the Yoruba concept of brotherhood.
