Six months after she was reported to have left the country for the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the President’s wife, Hajiya Aisha Buhari, has returned to Nigeria.

Sources inside the State House in Abuja confirmed last night that she arrived in Nigeria earlier in the day.

There were speculations towards the end of 2020 that she might have relocated to Dubai in the UAE for undisclosed reasons.

While one source had said she was in UAE for medical reasons, another said she loves being with her children when they are due to have their babies.

Although there was no official confirmation of her return around 6:45 p.m yesterday, activities around her office complex suggested her imminent return to work.

A source informed The Nation that her office had been fumigated in readiness for her resumption of duties.

Contacted for a response on the development, the Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Office of the First Lady, Aliyu Abdullahi, said he could not make any comment as he had not been briefed on the development.

“I can’t confirm to you what I don’t really know,” he said.
